GREEN IS GOLD: THE KYOCERA ENVIRONMENTAL PRIZE

Climate control is a task for all of society, it cannot be managed by politics alone. Especially the economy is called upon to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and to a responsible utilization of our natural resources with environmentally-friendly products and concepts.

More and more companies are realizing that investments in sustainable concepts pay off.

„Whoever follows green roads, finds gold in the end“, says the head of the jury of the KYOCERA Umweltpreis, Prof. Klaus Töpfer.

On January 30th, 2014, the prize endowed with a total of €100.000 was granted in Stuttgart, Germany for the fourth time. Medium-sized companies, organizations and civil offices could apply in one of four categories until October 31st, 2013. Only products that could establish a distinct climate relevance, or a sustainable reduction of CO2 emissions were eligible. On the other hand, it was insignificant whether the projects were still being planned, just being implemented, or already completed.

The KYOCERA-Umweltpreis is supportet by high-key partners: Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH)

[German environment support],  Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft (BVMW)

[federal comittee for medium–sized businesses],  Bundesdeutscher Arbeitskreis für Umweltbewusstes Management (B.A.U.M. e.V.) [registered federal study-group for evironmentally conscious management], Fraunhofer Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation (IAO) […for industrial engineering and organisation], Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (WKO) [Austrian chamber of commerce].

In the category „Climate and Energy“, GeoCool was rewarded with the second prize.
